God Will Make A Way

Ezra 1:1 (ESV): the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom.

Ezra 1:5 (ESV): Then rose up the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem.

God will make a way, is what we can see in these two passages here. One, God stirred the spirit of Cyrus to carry out his will, and two, God stirred up the spirit of his priest to rebuild the house of the LORD to worship. Is it that God is manipulating the soul of man? By no means. Instead, God has placed it in these men’s hearts to carry out his will, and in obedience, the men acted.

God does this to us every day. Stirs up our spirits to walk in his ways. Every day, we can choose whether we will obey God. Such obedience to God almost always results in a blessing for others. For example, I think about where I am today and how far God has brought me. This was only due to God stirring within another their spirit to invest into my life and to teach me the Sacred Scripture.

What is God stirring in you today? Is it to feed people experiencing homelessness? Preach his Word? Love your family? Maybe even to say “No” to the sin you have been flirted with by yourself. What God is calling you to do, he has already made a way.
